Pompton Lakes Woman¹s Club Honors the Marines and VFW Post for Maintaining
the Veterans Memorial Park in Pompton Lakes
The Pompton Lakes Woman¹s Club honored the Lakeland Marine Detachment and
VFW Tri-County Post 2906 with the Golden Broom Award in January 2010 for
their care of the Veterans Memorial Park in Pompton Lakes.
Marie Ricci (center), vice president of the Pompton Lakes Woman¹s Club,
presents the award to Marine and VFW representatives (from left to right)
Bill Bradshaw, Peter J. Alvarez, Bob Bateson, Tom Fitzpatrick, Andy O¹Neill,
and Edmund Smith.
The award is given monthly to a business or organization. A certificate is
given to the winner and the Golden Broom will be displayed for one month
before making its way to the next month¹s winner.
Special Thanks goes to Charlie Meyers for all his work over the years in helping to Maintain the Park and to Dick Berrian for Keeping it Lit.
